Cognitive behavioural hypnotherapist and certified personal trainer, near Penzance, Cornwall
I help people to work through anxiety, emotional eating, insomnia, and smoking, and to build lives they actually want to get up for in the morning. I use cognitive behavioural hypnotherapy, known as Hypno-CBT. It combines CBT, which works on your thoughts and habits, with hypnosis, which helps those changes settle in at a deeper level.
Everything I help my clients with, I have lived through and come out the other side of myself. That matters, because you will know you are working with someone speaking from experience, not just from a textbook.
Registration and supervision are not small print. They mean I work to a professional code of ethics, a senior practitioner oversees my work, and there is a formal route to raise concerns if anything is ever wrong.
Anxiety has been part of my life since childhood. I know what it is to live with a constant wariness of threat, always on guard, and what that does to a body over time: the racing heart, the jitteriness, the broken sleep, even the strange sensations like tingling feet that nobody warns you about.
For six years before I ever trained as a therapist, I invested in understanding myself. I worked with experts in their fields, from hypnotherapists and psychotherapists to personal trainers and one of the UK’s best known emotional eating coaches. Slowly I learned to recognise anxiety, regulate my nervous system, and redirect that energy rather than fight it.
The training came later. The understanding came first. When I qualified with the UK College of Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy, the certificate formalised something I had already spent years living.
Most sessions happen online over Zoom. I also come to you at home within about 10 miles of Penzance, which many anxious clients prefer. There are fewer barriers, you are more relaxed, and in my experience change often comes sooner. In the summer months, some clients choose outdoor sessions, walking and talking on private land near Penzance.
My treatment plans are organic. We agree an end goal together, then shape each week around how the last one went, rather than pushing you through a fixed programme. Where hypnosis is useful, I bring it in at the end of a session. Every client also receives a personal hypnotherapy recording, made for you with your name in it, to keep and reuse.
In my first year of practice I have worked closely with a small number of clients, and every one of them has told me the work went further than they expected. Several came back for help with something new once the first issue had settled. I do not promise results, no honest therapist can, but I will not take you on unless I believe I can help.
Each of these has its own page, where I explain how the work looks for that issue.
We always start with the free call. I cannot help everybody, and if I do not think I am the right person for you, I will say so and point you towards someone who is.
I see clients online across the UK and beyond, and in person around Penzance. Clients have travelled to me from Helston, Hayle, and Land’s End.
